ATOL protection only applies to flight + hotel packages. Some of the packages we sell will be ATOL protected. Some will not. We will let you know if they are or aren't. If ATOL protection is something you really want, then get in touch and we can advise.
It is worth noting that ATOL protection doesn't apply to the selling of flights only.
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act covers costs between £100 – £30k. It essentially says if the company goes bust and doesn’t supply the goods or service you paid for; you are entitled to your money back plus additional costs (such as paying for more expensive flights home).
You may also be protected with debit card payments via your banks chargeback scheme.
Therefore, if you pay by credit/debit card, you get the same protection as ATOL and many people have actually got their money back quicker this way rather than claiming through ATOL!
At present, because we are a small team of 2, it is financially better for us to operate as sole traders, rather than a Limited Company.
As sole traders, we are also personally liable to our clients. We can't hide behind a Limited Company.
As our business grows it may be financially better for us to operate as a Limited Company but rest assured we will not be a faceless company & our service to our clients will only improve.
Layover Tours are typically available to clients when there is a very long connection time. The Tours allow clients to make the most out of their time in a city before catching their onward flight to their final destination.
For example, some flights from the USA to Africa can involve spending a full day in Cairo, Egypt. Our Cairo Tour will involve being picked up at the airport by a local guide, taken to a local restaurant for breakfast, transported to the Great Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, taken for a spot of lunch before enjoying a boat cruise down the River Nile. Your guide will then take you somewhere great for dinner before taking you back to the airport for your onward flight.
The tours can be altered to your exact requirements if their are things you do/do not want to do.
Layover Tours are a great option to turn your journey into a short holiday and it is very common for the total price of your indirect flights with a layover tour to only be a little bit more expensive than taking a direct flight.
Feel free to check out our layover tours page to get a flavour of the tours you could be enjoying.
Typically, the airport staff will take care of your luggage on layovers. So make sure you have everything you need in your hand luggage if you're going to be spending the day exploring Cairo or Paris for example.
However, best practice is to simply ask the staff at the check-in/bag drop desk to make sure.
If you are to collect your luggage and check it in for your onward flight then we can help you out by either booking luggage storage for you or; if you're booked on one of our layover tours, your guide who picks you up at the airport will take care of your luggage for you.
